My name is John Lindale, I am an Ottawa-born designer in the final stages of completing my bachelor's degree in industrial design at Carleton University. I am passionate about addressing problems at their source by going beyond the design of physical artifacts and considering broader product systems. I find great satisfaction in improving products and systems in creative, beautiful, and sustainable ways through values-driven design.
To me, good design offers more than a solution to a problem; it is an act of empathy, grounded in a designer’s ability to identify, understand, and address their users’ needs. Through the power of design, a user’s relationship with a challenge can be transformed.
My Career Goals:
To diversify my knowledge and skillset in interdisciplinary design contexts through collaboration.
To be relentless in my pursuit of new experiences and knowledge, upholding a life-long-learner mindset.
To create meaningful value for both users and the companies I work with by grounding my process in shared values.
To have a positive impact on people, the planet, and the design industry.
